Class Notes: Doctrines of Man, Sin, and Salvation
1. The Four States of Man
- Innocent Man – before the fall, created without sin.
- Fallen Man – after the fall, totally depraved.
- Redeemed Man – saved by grace through faith.
- Glorified Man – perfected in eternity with God.
2. Innocent Man (Before the Fall)
- Created by God (Genesis 1:26–27).
- Made in God's image (spirit, soul, body – 1 Thess. 5:23).
- Morally upright, able to choose.
- Placed under a covenant of works (Genesis 2:16–17).
- Woman made from man (Genesis 2:21–22).
- Created for God's glory and fellowship.
3. Fallen Man (After the Fall)
- Adam sinned, representing all mankind (Romans 5:12–19).
- All are born sinners (Psalm 51:5).
- Man is totally depraved:
- Spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1).
- Cannot seek God (Romans 3:10–12).
- Enemy of God (Romans 5:10).
- Slave to sin (John 8:34).
Total Depravity: Every part of man is affected by sin.
4. Consequences of the Fall
- Loss of fellowship with God.
- Physical and spiritual death.
- Curse on creation (Genesis 3:16–19).
- Inherited guilt and sinful nature.
- Judgment and separation from God.
5. Man’s Condition After the Fall
- Guilty before God (Romans 3:19).
- Spiritually blind (2 Corinthians 4:4).
- Cannot save himself (Jeremiah 13:23).
- Needs both:
- Forgiveness (Justification), and
- Renewal (Regeneration).
6. Salvation (The Work of God)
God's Sovereign Plan:
- Election – God chose the elect (Ephesians 1:4–5).
- Atonement – Christ died for the elect (John 10:11).
- Calling – The elect are drawn by the Spirit (John 6:44).
- Regeneration – New life by the Spirit (John 3:3–8).
- Faith – A gift from God (Ephesians 2:8–9).
- Justification – Declared righteous (Romans 5:1).
- Sanctification – Growing in holiness (2 Cor. 5:17).
- Perseverance – True believers endure (John 10:28).
Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
7. Responsibilities of the Redeemed
- Live in obedience and holiness (1 Peter 1:15–16).
- Grow in faith and knowledge of Christ.
- Worship God and serve others.
- Depend on the Holy Spirit daily.
8. Glorified Man (Final State of the Redeemed)
- At death: soul goes to be with Christ (Phil. 1:23).
- At resurrection: body is raised glorified (1 Cor. 15:42–44).
- Eternal life with Christ in the new heaven and earth (Rev. 21:1–4).
- No more sin, pain, or death.
9. The End of the Wicked
- Soul goes to hell (Luke 16:23).
- Final judgment at Great White Throne (Revelation 20:11–15).
- Cast into the lake of fire – eternal separation from God.

- Mwanadamu Aliyekombolewa – ameokolewa kwa neema kwa njia ya imani.
- Mwanadamu Atukuzwaye – aliyekamilishwa milele kwa Mungu.
2. Mwanadamu Asi na Dhambi (Kabla ya Anguko)
- Aliumbwa na Mungu (Mwanzo 1:26–27).
- Alifanywa kwa mfano wa Mungu (roho, nafsi, mwili – 1 Wathesalonike 5:23).
- Alikuwa na usafi wa maadili, mwenye uwezo wa kuchagua.
- Aliwekwa chini ya agano la matendo (Mwanzo 2:16–17).
- Mwanamke alitolewa kutoka kwa mwanaume (Mwanzo 2:21–22).
- Alifanywa kwa ajili ya utukufu na ushirika na Mungu.

- Adamu alitenda dhambi akiwa mwakilishi wa wanadamu wote (Warumi 5:12–19).
- Wote huzaliwa wakiwa na dhambi (Zaburi 51:5).
- Mwanadamu ameharibika kabisa:
- Amekufa kiroho (Waefeso 2:1).
- Hawezi kumtafuta Mungu (Warumi 3:10–12).
- Ni adui wa Mungu (Warumi 5:10).
- Ni mtumwa wa dhambi (Yohana 8:34).
Uharibifu Kamili: Kila sehemu ya mwanadamu imeathiriwa na dhambi.
4. Matokeo ya Anguko
- Kupoteza ushirika na Mungu.
- Kifo cha kimwili na kiroho.
- Laana juu ya uumbaji (Mwanzo 3:16–19).
- Urithi wa hatia na asili ya dhambi.
- Hukumu na kutengwa na Mungu.
5. Hali ya Mwanadamu Baada ya Anguko
- Mwenye hatia mbele za Mungu (Warumi 3:19).
- Kipofu kiroho (2 Wakorintho 4:4).
- Hawezi kujiokoa mwenyewe (Yeremia 13:23).
- Anahitaji:
- Msamaha (Kuhesabiwa haki), na
- Kufanywa upya (Kuzaliwa mara ya pili).
6. Wokovu (Kazi ya Mungu)
Mpango wa Ukuu wa Mungu:
- Kuteuliwa – Mungu aliwachagua wateule (Waefeso 1:4–5).
- Upatanisho – Kristo alikufa kwa ajili ya wateule (Yohana 10:11).
- Kuitwa – Wateule huvutwa na Roho (Yohana 6:44).
- Kuzaliwa Mara ya Pili – Uzima mpya kwa njia ya Roho (Yohana 3:3–8).
- Imani – Zawadi kutoka kwa Mungu (Waefeso 2:8–9).
- Kuhesabiwa Haki – Kutangazwa kuwa mwenye haki (Warumi 5:1).
- Kutakaswa – Kukua katika utakatifu (2 Wakorintho 5:17).
- Kudumu – Waumini wa kweli hudumu hadi mwisho (Yohana 10:28).
Wokovu ni kwa neema pekee, kwa imani pekee, katika Kristo pekee.
7. Wajibu wa Waliokombolewa
- Kuishi kwa utiifu na utakatifu (1 Petro 1:15–16).
- Kukua katika imani na maarifa ya Kristo.
- Kumwabudu Mungu na kuwahudumia wengine.
- Kumtegemea Roho Mtakatifu kila siku.
8. Mwanadamu Atukuzwaye (Hali ya Mwisho ya Waliokombolewa)
- Wakati wa kifo: roho huenda kwa Kristo (Wafilipi 1:23).
- Wakati wa ufufuo: mwili hufufuliwa kwa utukufu (1 Wakorintho 15:42–44).
- Uzima wa milele pamoja na Kristo katika mbingu mpya na dunia mpya (Ufunuo 21:1–4).
- Hakutakuwa na dhambi, maumivu, wala kifo tena.
9. Mwisho wa Wasioamini
- Roho huenda jehanamu (Luka 16:23).
- Hukumu ya mwisho mbele ya kiti kikuu cheupe (Ufunuo 20:11–15).
- Kutupwa katika ziwa la moto – kutengwa na Mungu milele.
10. Mafundisho ya Kifundisho (Kutoka Maandiko)
