 Summary: The Person and Work of God the Son (Jesus Christ)

Jesus Christ, God the Son, is fully God and fully man—the God-Man. Hebrews 1:8 and John 1:1-14 affirm His eternal deity and incarnation. As man, He was born of a woman, experienced human growth, temptation, and death—yet without sin (Heb. 4:15). As God, He was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of a virgin, and bears titles and attributes that belong only to Deity (Col. 2:9).

His Divine Sonship is affirmed by the Father, angels, prophets, apostles, devils, and Christ Himself. His deity is irrefutable to any who accept the authority of Scripture.

His Sevenfold Mission:

  1. The Son of God and Son of Man – sent to save the world (John 3:17; Luke 19:10), and to share His inheritance with the redeemed (Rom. 8:17).
  2. Saviour and Redeemer – to save His people from their sins and redeem them by His blood (Matt. 1:21; 1 Pet. 1:18-19).
  3. Our Example – in holiness, prayer, love, humility, obedience, and overcoming temptation (John 13:15; 1 Pet. 2:21).
  4. New Testament Prophet – God’s final and authoritative spokesman (Heb. 1:1-2), fulfilling the Mosaic type (Acts 7:37).
  5. Our Lord – possessing all authority, Head of the Church, and giver of the Gospel (Matt. 28:18; Eph. 1:22-23).
  6. Our Intercessor – now at the right hand of God, making intercession for us (Heb. 7:25; 1 John 2:1).
  7. Our Coming King – born King of the Jews, He will return to judge the world and reign forever (Matt. 25; Rev. 22:5).

His Attributes include pre-existence, omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, immutability, and divine fullness (John 1:1; Heb. 13:8).

His Works:

  • Creation (John 1:3)
  • Giver of Life and Light (John 5:21; 8:12)
  • Author of Eternal Salvation (Heb. 5:9)
  • Builder and Head of the Church (Matt. 16:18; Col. 1:18)
  • Upholder of All Things (Heb. 1:3)
  • Forgiver of Sins (Luke 7:48)
  • Sanctifier of Believers (Heb. 10:10)
  • Atoner for Sin (1 Pet. 2:24)
  • Advocate at the Throne (1 John 2:1)
  • Righteous Judge (Acts 17:31; 2 Cor. 5:10)
  • Gatherer of His People at His Return (1 Thess. 4:14-17)

In all this, Jesus Christ is our Saviour, Lord, Redeemer, Prophet, Priest, and King. To Him belongs all glory now and forever (Rev. 5:12-13).

Muhtasari: Mungu Mwana – Yesu Kristo

1. Utambulisho na Asili Yake ya Kiungu

Yesu ni Mungu: Alitangazwa na Baba katika Waebrania 1:8, na kufafanuliwa katika Yohana 1:1–14 kama Neno la milele, Muumba, na chanzo cha uzima.

Mungu-Mtu: Yesu ni Mungu kamili na mwanadamu kamili. Alijitambulisha kama Mwana wa Adamu na Mwana wa Mungu.

2. Ubinadamu Wake

4. Dhamira Yake ya Mara Saba

  1. Mwana: Alitumwa kuokoa ulimwengu (Yoh. 3:17); Mwana wa Mungu na Mwana wa Adamu, akitushirikisha urithi wa milele (War. 8:17).

  2. Mwokozi na Mkombozi: Alikuja kuwaokoa watu kutoka dhambini (Math. 1:21), kutukomboa (Tit. 2:14), na kutoa maisha yake kuwa fidia (Math. 20:28).

  3. Mfano Wetu: Aliishi maisha matakatifu, akituonyesha namna ya kuishi, kupenda, na kutii (1 Pet. 2:21).

  4. Nabii wa Agano Jipya: Alitimiza unabii wa Musa (Mdo. 7:37); ni msemaji wa mwisho na mwenye mamlaka wa Mungu (Ebr. 1:1–2).

  5. Bwana Wetu: Alifundisha kwa mamlaka (Math. 7:29), akaanzisha kanisa, na kudai uwezo wote (Math. 28:18).

  7. Mfalme Wetu: Alizaliwa na kutambuliwa kama Mfalme (Math. 2:2), atarudi kuhukumu dunia kwa haki na kutawala milele (Zek. 14:9; 2 Thes. 1:7–9).

5. Sifa Zake

Wa milele (Yoh. 1:1), Mwenye uwezo wote (Math. 28:18), Mwenye maarifa yote (Kol. 2:3), Aliye kila mahali (Math. 18:20), Asiyebadilika (Ebr. 13:8), na Mungu kamili (Kol. 2:9).
