God’s Big Story of Redemption

Theme Verse: “That in all things he might have the preeminence.” — Colossians 1:18 (KJV)
Big Idea: The Bible is one great story—from creation to new creation—showing how God is saving sinners through Jesus Christ.

Day 1: Creation – God Made Everything Good

Main Text: Genesis 1–2
Memory Verse: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” — Genesis 1:1

Key Truths:

  • God is the Creator of all things—He made the world, animals, and people.
  • Everything God made was “very good” (Genesis 1:31).
  • God made man in His image to know Him and glorify Him (Genesis 1:26–27).

Application:

  • God made you and knows you.
  • Your life has value because you're made in His image.
  • We are made to worship and obey God.

Day 2: The Fall – Sin Entered the World

Main Text: Genesis 3
Memory Verse: “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin...” — Romans 5:12

Key Truths:

  • Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s command and sinned.
  • Sin broke our relationship with God and brought suffering and death.
  • All people are now born sinners (Romans 3:23).

Application:

  • Sin separates us from God.
  • We cannot fix ourselves—but God had a rescue plan.

Day 3: Promise – God Promised a Saviour

Main Texts: Genesis 3:15, Genesis 12:1–3, Isaiah 9:6–7
Memory Verse: “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman... it shall bruise thy head...” — Genesis 3:15

Key Truths:

  • God didn’t abandon us—He gave a promise of a Saviour (Genesis 3:15).
  • God promised Abraham that one of his descendants would bless the whole world (Genesis 12:3).
  • The prophets spoke of a coming King—Jesus (Isaiah 9:6–7).

Application:

  • Even when we sin, God is merciful.
  • Jesus was promised long ago as the Redeemer.

Day 4: Redemption – Jesus Died and Rose Again

Main Texts: Luke 23–24, John 3:16, Romans 5:8
Memory Verse: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

Key Truths:

  • Jesus lived a perfect life and died on the cross for our sins.
  • He rose from the dead on the third day!
  • His death and resurrection give us forgiveness and new life.

Application:

  • We are saved not by being good, but by trusting in what Jesus did.
  • We must repent and believe the gospel (Mark 1:15).

Day 5: Restoration – God Will Make All Things New

Main Texts: Revelation 21–22, Romans 8:18–21
Memory Verse: “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes...” — Revelation 21:4

Key Truths:

  • One day, Jesus will return and make a new heaven and new earth.
  • There will be no more sin, death, or sadness.
  • God’s people will live with Him forever.

Application:

  • We have hope, even in hard times.
  • We live now for God’s glory as we wait for Jesus.

Optional Add-ons for Each Day:

  • Storytelling: Use visuals, skits, or simple illustrated timelines.
  • Crafts: Creation collage, snake on a stick (Fall), promise star (Abraham), cross bookmark, heavenly city.
  • Songs: Simple Reformed gospel-centered songs like “Jesus Strong and Kind” or “God Made Me.”
  • Games/Quizzes: Reinforce daily themes with active games and review questions.
